Le Mas du Bessin Idée de Visite Maison Extérieur côté jardin

Welcome

Nestled in a quiet village of fewer than 200 residents, our home is just 10 minutes from Arromanches and its historic artificial harbor. It’s the perfect starting point to explore the D-Day landing beaches and other World War II landmarks.  Whether you're looking to relax, dive into history, savor Norman cuisine, or unwind on beautiful sandy beaches, there's always something to experience.

From the iconic Mont-Saint-Michel to the wild Cotentin coast, the marshes of Carentan, the Bessin region, the D-Day beaches, Bayeux with its famous Tapestry and cathedral, the vibrant city of Caen, the castles of William the Conqueror, the rolling countryside of the Pays d’Auge, the Suisse Normande and the Perche, to the more refined coastline from Cabourg to Deauville, the Normandy Bridge, and the cliffs of Etretat — this is just a glimpse of the many treasures Normandy has to offer.

We do our best to make your stay as enjoyable as possible in one of our two gîtes or our guest room.

Completed in the summer of 2015, our modern-style Green Gîte is located on the first floor of the outbuilding of our traditional stone house.

It has its own private entrance via a small front courtyard, which includes a walled parking space (with optional shelter for motorcycles and bicycles). This courtyard also leads to a shared, south-facing garden area — complete with garden furniture — as well as your own private terrace. The entire space is enclosed by walls to ensure peace and privacy.

With a floor area of approximately 30 m², plus a mezzanine, the apartment features double-glazed windows (with mosquito screens on the garden side) and electric heating. Furnished with a king-size bed and a second sleeping area, it’s ideal for a couple or up to four guests (adults or teenagers). Please note: the mezzanine staircase is not secured.

To make your stay as comfortable as possible, we provide all bed linen (sheets, towels, and tea towels), and we’ll have the beds ready for your arrival. We also personally take care of the end-of-stay cleaning.

The gîte is not suitable for young children; it is non-smoking, and pets are not allowed. That said, you may be lucky enough to meet one of our cats in the garden — or even feed a few leftovers to the chickens!
